Short answer
Dentoryxa guides are researched from primary sources first: regulators, legislation, government pages and official platform documentation. Secondary sources are labelled as such. Every guide shows who wrote it, when it was last reviewed and the sources it relies on. Corrections are made promptly when we find or are told about an error.
Who writes the guides
Guides are written and edited by Ryan Mitchell, our editor. Ryan is not a lawyer or a dental professional, and the guides do not offer legal or clinical advice.
How we choose sources
We use sources in this order of preference:
- Regulators and official bodies, such as provincial dental colleges, privacy commissioners and the CRTC.
- Legislation and government pages, such as the Government of Ontario and Health Canada.
- Official documentation from platforms, such as Google’s guidelines.
- Secondary sources, such as law firm summaries or legal information organizations, when a primary source is not available or is hard to read. These are labelled “secondary source” in the source list.
- Commercial publishers, such as pricing guides written by web design businesses, labelled “commercial publisher”, used only for market price ranges.
We quote numbers and rules as the source states them and avoid rounding or restating them in ways that change the meaning. If two sources disagree, or one source contradicts itself, we say so.
What we will not publish
- Statistics we cannot trace to a source.
- Testimonials, reviews or case studies presented as genuine without being verifiable.
- Claims that a rule applies across Canada when we have only checked one province.
- Advice that encourages collecting more patient information than needed.
Review dates
Each guide shows the date it was last reviewed. Guides are reviewed when a rule they rely on changes, and in any case at least once a year. Pages with time-sensitive information, such as Canadian Dental Care Plan details, are reviewed after each annual change.
Corrections
If you find an error, email hello@dentoryxa.site with the page address and, if possible, the source that shows the correct information. We check every report. When we correct a factual error, we update the page and its review date.
Commercial interest
The owner of this website has commercial interests in web design services. Dentoryxa offers website services to dental practices, and our guides mention those services where relevant. The guides do not recommend specific third-party providers, and we do not accept payment for mentions.
Examples and images
Website designs shown on this site are illustrative concepts for fictional practices. They are labelled as such and do not represent client work or results.
